Hi, I am a fifth-year PhD candidate in Accounting at the School of Accounting and Finance, University of Waterloo, and expect to graduate in June 2027. I am seeking an assistant professor position. In 2021, I passed the Common Final Examination (CFE) with an in-depth track in taxation.

My research uses archival data and empirical methods to examine how enforcement of corporate misconduct and tax policies shape firms’ tax-related outcomes and behavior. Specifically, my main research focus is firms’ ability to maximize after-tax return because it is the rule of thumb for firms’ decisions according to the Scholes-Wolfson paradigm. After-tax return maximization involves trade-offs across firm strategies, which I am interested in examining further.

As a hobby, I follow the stock market, which led me to develop my own market sentiment tool. Details on the tool are available in the “My Market Sentiment Tool” tab.
